Dr. José Eugenio Rubilar Medina is a sculptor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Concepción. He also holds a Master’s in Visual Arts and Education (A Constructionist Approach) and a PhD in Art and Education from the University of Barcelona. His academic work is situated within the material and affective turn, where post-humanist perspectivism, neo-materialism, and decolonial thought converge. These approaches have allowed him to explore ethic-onto-epistemological, methodological, and pedagogical frameworks in relation to heritage, the arts, and visual/material culture. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Concepción (UdeC) and as a co-researcher for the InES Gender Project: “The counter-archive of affective memory: Gender agency and activism in micro-political spaces within the University framework” at the Austral University of Chile. His research lines include the relational and affective dimensions of heritage, decolonial aesthetics, and university-level art education.
Dr. José Eugenio Rubilar-Medina. Escultor, Licenciado en Artes Plásticas y Magíster en Psicología por la Universidad de Concepción, Máster en Artes Visuales y Educación: Un enfoque construccionista y Doctor en Arte y Educación por la Universidad de Barcelona. Destaca su trabajo académico en el giro material y afectivo en el que convergen los perspectivismos posthumanistas, los neomaterialismos y el pensamiento decolonial. Enfoques que le han permitido profundizar los marcos ético-onto-epistemológicos, metodológicos y pedagógicos con los patrimonios, las artes y la cultura visual/material. Actualmente, se desempeña como Profesor Asistente en el Depto. de Artes Plásticas de la UdeC y como co-investigador en el Proyecto InES Género “El contra-archivo de memoria afectiva: Agenciamiento y activismos de género en espacios micro-políticos dentro de la trama Universitaria” de la Universidad Austral de Chile. Entre sus líneas de investigación destaca la dimensión relacional y afectiva con los patrimonios, las estéticas decoloniales y la educación artística universitaria.
